Six Ways to Use an Eight-Sided Area Rug

Six Ways to Use an Eight-Sided Area Rug

Like our other natural area rugs, our octagonal hand-tufted wool area rugs come in many patterns and colors palettes to suit many different spaces and decor styles. But while you might find their eight-sided shape visually intriguing, you may also find it  makes them tricky to place.

If you find it hard to imagine where you'd use an octagonal area rug, here are six quick ideas:

Foyer

An octagonal area rug makes a distinctive impression upon entering your home. If you have a large foyer, an octagonal rug can be placed in the middle of the space. If the space is less roomy, one is perfect placed in front of bench.

Dining Area

Whether in your kitchen, dining room or breakfast nook, an octagonal area rug works perfectly underneath a round table. But, as we mentioned in our blog post about using round area rugs, just be sure your rug is large enough so that all of the legs of your chairs fit on it when pulled out.

Living Room or Family Room

An octagonal area rug is an intriguing anchor to a seating area in your living room or family room. As with all rugs used in this way, be sure that at least the front legs of all the furniture can be placed on it.

Kitchen

In a kitchen work space, a larger octagonal area rug may be used in the center of the area. In a smaller space  you can use a smaller one in front of your sink area.

Bedroom

While tricky to use under your bed, an octagonal area rug is an unexpected and interesting choice in a small bedroom seating or reading area.

Home Office

In a home office area, a larger octagonal area rug goes perfectly under your desk and office chair. This is an especially nice option to distinguish an office area that's part of a larger open space.

We invite to take a look at our collection of octagonal area rugs and see where you could imagine one in your home.
